Tinubu offered to give me the pipeline contract but I turned him down – Asari Dokubo

Former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo has revealed that President Bola Tinubu once asked him if he was interested in a pipeline contract.

However, Dokubo stated that he told Tinubu that he was not interested.

The former Ijaw militant made this known while speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday.

Dokubo also added that the government has offered to assist those involved in the pipeline contract in any way it can to help it succeed.

He said: “I met President Ahmed Bola Tinubu. I met him both on and off camera. He asked me, ‘Are you interested in the pipeline?’ he asked. He will listen now. I told him I wasn’t interested in the pipeline contract. He is alive. I told him I wasn’t interested. But I can help the pipeline contractors in any way I can to make your government successful.

“But I’m not interested. That’s why I never said that what I was looking for was personal gain. I have made it clear in all my publications that my needs are very minimal. My needs are very small.”
